As your health, nutrition, diet and weight management life coach I am your personal health cheerleader, guide and partner. Helping you to reliably implement lifestyle changes to improve your physical health by sorting out where you need to start and make small changes that adds up over time, until you reach your desired health goals set by your doctor or healthcare provider.

If you are feeling “stuck”, and don’t know which direction to take, I am here to get you “unstuck” by helping you figure out what’s keeping you from reaching your health goals by:

• helping you create goals by looking at your present state for change and what action you’re ready to take.
• find out what is blocking you or what challenges you might likely face in following through with your goals.
• ask you questions (motivational interviewing) to get you thinking about how you can overcome your challenges.
• regularly checking in with you by email, phone calls or zoom meetings, usually over the course of at least three months or more after your coaching sessions end.
• determine what plan we can put together so that you can follow through with succeeding with your desired health goals.

The most common obstacle I have observed that people face is their own thoughts about themselves and about making change, change is always something that the majority of people fear – but positive change always brings growth. Through the use of motivational strategies and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, I will help you work through some of their thoughts.

Health coaching isn’t about someone telling you what to do it about respecting your terms and your reasons for wanting — or not wanting — to change. As your health coach I will show up for you in whatever way you need to fulfil your desired goals.

Benefits of health coaching

Making changes is often so very difficult, even when it may be something that we really want in life. Sometimes it may even feel downright impossible for us to do. However, you can benefit tremendously from health coaching because you have someone ready to support and help you through the process, and research shows that health coaching works.
One study found that people who went through three months of health coaching significantly improved:

• Blood pressure levels.
• Cholesterol levels.
• Glucose (blood sugar).
• Triglycerides (blood fat).
• Body weight.
• Cardiovascular fitness.

A health coach can help when you feel like nothing you have being trying to improve your health on your own has worked. Give you a boost when you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just discouraged or like you do not have enough time to follow through.

A person might leave a doctor’s appointment and feel so discouraged, that they may “have to lose all this weight, and think, now I have all these processes I have to do.”.

I can help you see that you have strengths that can be used to start making the required changes. I will help you see the many possibilities based on your unique situation and abilities so that it is simpler and easier to make sustainable changes by providing:

• Accountability: Knowing that you must check in with another person about your progress can give you the push you need to move forward.
• Encouragement: Act as your cheerleader to pick you up when you’re having a not-so-good day.
• Unconditional support: I do not judge your actions. I help you come to your own conclusions about what works and what doesn’t in reaching your desired health goals.
